To accomplish its missions, PELC Foundation participates in the following activities:
- Organizing reasonably-prices, tax deductible, community-based
tourism in remote, beautiful, rarely visited regions, which haven't
been "spoiled" or crushed by tourism.
- Assisting and supporting the formation of democratically run community development centers, which empower and educate farmers in remote villages about appropriate agricultural methods, marketing solutions, community banking, sustainable economy, and environmental protection.
- Collecting funds that can be used by community development centers to build schools, clinics, garbage disposal centers, and other public facilities, as well as to compensate teachers, health care practitioners, construction workers, and community officers, for the time spent away from their home farm.
- Supporting and nourishing the development of sustainable farming industries that are appropriate for the indigenous climate and culture and are capable of promoting economic viability in remote areas.
- Providing local healthcare practitioners with basic emergency medical drugs and equipment, a supply of natural medicines, and basic medicinal education by competent or professional volunteers. Where this is not possible due to isolation or remoteness, providing "traveling healers" who volunteer their health and wellness services on site.
- Creating a membership list and tangible benefits
for members.
- Organizing community based, economically beneficial tourism in remote areas, where visitors respectfully interact with the local people without compromising their culture.
- Assisting in the development of healing centers in various countries that are attractive to eco-tourists and to health conscious or health challenged individuals.
- Promoting international and intercultural exchange among educational institutions and their students.
