Today's ASK Doctor T
Read Dr. T's Answers:
Overcoming Resistance to Nutritional, Environmental, Preventive, Functional Medicine
Question: My 9 year old daughter has chronic recurring urinary tract infection, and has been under medical care (antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs) for many years, without success.
I want to try another approach, but my husband's parents are medical doctors and they resist any alternative approach. I would like to have a consultation with you for examination and diagnosis, but first I must overcome their resistance. How should I approach them?

Detecting Prostate Cancer
Question: I have a biofeedback client with a huge prostate gland who is told he needs to go through a biopsy. He is scared to death. I told him about the AMAS test to detect early cancer without surgery.
Is there anything else he should do? He is on medication for the enlarged prostate.

Allergies and Food Sensitivities
Question: Ask Doctor T: I am a college student suffering from allergies and food sensitivitites. Apart from taking the applicable tests, what can I do to alleviate some of the symptoms?

Hydrogen Peroxide for the Hot Tub
Question: Ask Doctor T: I am a big fan of your restaurant and really find your newsletters informative. I have a hot tub that I'd like to start using hydrogen peroxide in instead of all the harmful chemicals.
Can you tell me who to contact regarding the ratio of peroixde per gallon of water and where to get the food grade peroxide. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Encouraging Friends to Visit Ecopolitan
Question: Hello, I have been enjoying your food immensely- it's hard to believe how food that tastes so amazingly rich and fulfilling can also be so healthy for you (and the planet)!
However, when I try to invite friends and family they are reluctant to join me, even though I tell them it's the most fabulous organic raw restaurant and eco-shop! How can I convince them to come and eat at Ecopolitan?

Ecopolitan in the Media
Eat it Raw - Ecopolitan Makes the Uncooked Comfortable
Appeared in the Southwest Journal, September 11-24.
![]()
Quoting the auhor: "The loyal Clientele, which fills tables inside and out, is the first sign that something interesting is happening there..... One of the things that makes a tostada good to eat is the mess of textures and flavors that get all mixed up in your mouth: crisp lettuce, smooth beans, silky cheese. Ecopolitan’s tostada hits the mark — without beans, cheese or a tortilla. It’s crunchy and creamy, tangy and hot; the peppers in the salsa snap; the guac tingles with lime and garlic. You might even start looking around for a Pacifico.
The magic’s in the prep..... The “sour cream” is made from cashews that are soaked and then ground in a blender....the best nuts for creamy foods..... Ecopolitan’s “taco meat” is really sprouted lentils, portabello mushrooms and carrots ground together, dehydrated and then rehydrated to a crumbly texture. The “taco shell” is a paste of ground flax and sunflower seeds, onion and cayenne that’s dehydrated till crisp. It’s good; it’s also inventive as hell. And that is, no doubt, what’s garnered Ecopolitan a steady stream of patrons: creating raw food dishes that replicate the comfort we’re used to from cooked cuisine."

Smooth Operator
- In search of the alchemists who transform fruits into liquids![]()
Quoting the author: "Here they perk up the drinks menu with monosyllabic items such as figs and dates. Coconut milk works great in "milkshake"-style smoothies.... Like a gourmet Jelly Belly, Ecopolitan has managed to capture the essence of something, and make it into something else... Take the apple pie smoothie, for example. Who knew that banana, pear, and apple juices, dates, walnuts, and cinnamon could taste exactly like warm apple pie? The oatmeal raisin and strawberry shortcake smoothies manage the alchemical feat of transforming food into liquid as well. The vanilla almond and dark date drink combines ingredients that you almost surely wouldn't drop into a blender of your own volition—but which you probably should"

Today's Testimonial
"I just wanted to congratulate you on what appears to be your superhuman efforts at spreading the message.
About a year and a half ago I finally managed to sustain a predominantly raw vegan diet after an earlier attempt about four or five years ago.
I'd first heard of eating unprocessed, unrefined organic uncooked foods almost 10 years ago, but wasn't ready. The vegetarian part has been easy, However, going to mostly raw foods was the hard part for me!
Dr. T's Comment: We all had to go through the same path, TH. First, we did not believe it exists (Raw Veganism). Then we did not believe it was possible. Then we tried and could not handle the addictions. Then we tried again (out of conviction or out of severe illness) and finally realized what our immune system should do for us, what energy our metabolism can manufacture for us, and what clarity our brain can provide us, when we provide the body with the correct, pure fuel!

DITI has been recognized as a viable diagnostic tool since 1987 by the AMA Council on Scientific affairs and the ACA Council on Diagnostic Imaging, since 1988 by the Congress of Neuro-Surgeons, and since 1990 by the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
The screening at Ecopolitan (the ONLY MODERN DITI currently available in the Twin Cities that is interpreted by a Board-Certified Radiologist) includes a full thermographic imaging examination and color images, interpretation of the non-breast tissue findings by a Certified Thermographer, and medical interpretation by a board-certified medical radiologist.
