Three reasons to avoid raw cacao

Question: "Hello Dr. T, when you get a chance, would you please send me three reasons why I should NOT order raw cacao?"  

Today's "brief off-the-cuff, un-referenced" answer from Dr. T:
  • It's addictive.
  • It has diuretic activities (making you lose minerals).
  • It has psychoactive components.
  • It wastes your energy while giving you the false impression that you have plenty of it.
  • It's hard on the stomach lining and digestive secretions.
  • It's toxic for the liver.
  • It would have never been eaten by humans in Nature - bitter, revolting until addiction sets it, and difficult to find.
  • To overcome the bitterness, profuse amounts of sweeteners are used, causing stress on the pancreas.
Oops... Did I exceed three?
